One of the many rock-hewn (also known as Monolithic) churches in Ethiopia, this one was slightly more ‘off the beaten track’. However this just made it that much more special. This church was specifically famous for supplying Holy Water to the other churches, with clean freshwater being collected from dripping stalactites in the cave.

Spectators

SONY DSC

Laotian Novice Monks, like many young Buddhist monks throughout South East Asia, spend years learning about Buddhism at their monastery/school until they can become full-fledged monks at the age of 20.

To the outside world we are all strangers. We are not alike. When we visit other countries we look at their culture like we are spectators, but can it be the other way round?
